Rick Simpson "Legacy" digital giclee print "Halo" digital geclee print
In the month of March, Frank and Dunya is showcasing Rick Simpson, an internationally acclaimed, award-winning digital artist. We would call his primary genre Fantastic Realism. The images he creates are powerful and intense. The symbolism in his visual statements may appeal or repel, but they are always dark and charged with wild fantasizes. The “Metamorphosis” series represents human emotions in the process of change. It's almost intimate, but on the other hand each image is also universal and is relevant to almost every human being. His works contrast images of fantasy and beauty, darkness and subtle humor. They are purely intuitive and based on personal emotional and psychological experiences. The viewer’s vision, imagination, emotions, and experiences ultimately determine the interpretation of each image. Rick received his Master of Fine Arts Degree in Fine Art Printmaking from the University of Oregon. He shows his artwork in London, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Rick Simpson's show at Frank and Dunya runs throughout month of April. His work will be on display from March 5 to April 1 , 2010 . Artist Reception will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 6:00 to 9:00 Don't miss the opportunity to meet and greet the artist Hope to see you all, my friends
